Employee Relations
The term “Employee Relations” is used by Human Resources professionals in reference to a host of issues. In short, it means helping a company deal with what is often called "People Problems."

That term is used most often by frustrated owners or managers.  The cause could be one or a number of things including:  Employee problems, morale issues, concerns about management or co-workers, sexual harassment or discriminatory issues, even hostile customers or vendors.

The consequences of not addressing these issues will show up in poor customer service, absenteeism, high turnover, employee lawsuits, lower productivity, higher workers compensation claims, and more.

Sometimes it takes an “outsider” to see things from a different perspective. Sometimes (often times) it takes an outside Employee Relations expert to simply validate what the company HR person was saying all along about a problem.  Having an "outsider" helps diffuse the issue and provides an unbiased approach.

No single solution fits every company, and be wary of any firm that tries to offer you a "one size fits all" approach.  We offer an array of tools to assess the situation which may include:

  • Attitude surveys
  • Employee interviews
  • 360 feedback
  • One-on-one meetings with employees
  • And more....

Our trained experts approach the problem holistically ensuring we gain a perspective from "all sides." We then do our best to find root causes and offer practical suggestions to resolve the issue(s).  Our experts also know enough to assess if a situation is best handled with the oversight of legal expertise (either with our partner firm or your own counsel).

Despite all the jargon, it all boils down to one key goal:  To make your organization a better place to work.
