Management Mentoring

The Problem 

A study by the American Management Association once found that 80% of employees feel their managers are ineffective. Statistically this means your company has managers who fall into that category.  Does your company have a manager or supervisor who is good at the operations piece of the job but tends to feel lost when it comes to the "managing people" component of their role? 
 
Perhaps he or she is too straightforward with the employee, or lacks some of the basic "people skills" so important when leading others. Perhaps you have a manager at your company who is described as a "control freak" or "explosive."  
 
You may have the opposite problem with a manager, that person may be non-confrontational, afraid to point out errors, he or she may be indecisive, or afraid to “make waves”  to upper management. As a result, the staff may see that manager as weak or a poor leader. 
 
 
The Solution
We offer a mentoring program that enables our mentor to work one-on-one with the manager(s) who may need a little guidance. We have staff with specialized education, experience and training in management effectiveness. We tailor the training to meet the manager’s needs. We assess the challenges he or she is facing and offer specific guidance on how to handle scenarios.  For this reason, no two sessions are alike. We do not offer a "cookie cutter" solution because each manager is as unique as their own fingerprint.  We've seen too many companies send a manager to a seminar and expect immediate results.  That approach rarely works.  
 
Not coaching:  Our sessions are not be confused with Management or Executive “coaching”. Typically a  coach will offer inspiration, help the person set goals, stay on task and more. Coaches can be very beneficial for the individual's productivity but that is not what we do.  (We can refer you to a good coach if you are looking for one).  
 
Experts on How to Manage People:  We are "people management gurus” who serve as a sounding board for employee issues from the manager’s perspective. We offer guidance on how a scenario can be (or should have been ) handled more effectively when relating to an employee, co-worker, or boss. 
 
Development, Not Detention: Our program is not to be viewed a form of "punishment" for the manager, but rather an opportunity to learn and grow.  Most managers are highly responsive once they realize  the company cares about them and wants to invest in their growth. 
 
Confidential:  We can arrange meetings off-site to keep the sessions completely confidential.  Then end result is better communication and interaction among the managers and employees  and a more productive and upbeat workforce.
